Anxiety
Anxiety is one of Europe’s most common mental disorders, affecting about 25 million people. Anxiety is a normal emotion vital for survival, e.g., in a situation of potential threat or harm. However, some people experience anxiety in the absence of any danger, which can lead to psychosomatic diseases and disturb the average life balance in general, in somecases it can lead to depression
Confidence and performance
Sometimes it is challenging to cope with the situation when you cannot lose and must perform well, especially when you have been preparing for the event all your life, e.g., a dissertation, an important interview, a challenging tournament, or anything else that is very important to you! Every one of us had one or more times to perform. And most of us will remember the stressful moments, sweating, with our hearts beating fast and stomachs churning.
Let’s talk about sport performance.
Smoking and other addictions
Despite a recent decline in prevalence, tobacco use remains one of the leading avoidable causes of disease and premature death worldwide.
Tobacco smoking is taking smoke from burning tobacco into the mouth and, usually, the lungs. Tobacco preparations are often chewed, sniffed into the nose, or inserted as a wad in the mouth between the cheeks and gums. Cigarettes are the most frequently smoked product; however, cigarillos, cigars, pipes, vaping are all options. In various regions worldwide, ’smokeless’ tobacco is also popular. Smokeless tobacco usage involves characteristics like smoking and can pose significant health risks.
Phobias
A phobia is a persistent, excessive, and irrational fear of something, someone, an animal, an activity, or a circumstance. It is classified as an anxiety disorder. A person with a phobia either attempts to avoid the source of the fear or endures it with significant anxiety and distress.
Some phobias are exceptionally specialised and limited in their application. A person may solely fear spiders (arachnophobia) or cats (ailurophobia). In this situation, the individual lives anxiety-free mainly by avoiding the item they fear. Some phobias cause problems in a broader range of settings or circumstances. Acrophobia (fear of heights) symptoms, for example, can be provoked by looking out the window of an office building or driving over a high bridge.
Suicidal thoughts
Suicide is the second highest cause of death for people between the ages of 15 and 30 worldwide. In 2012, roughly 75% of global suicides occurred in low- and middle-income countries; for example, 34 farmers and agricultural laborers committed themselves to India every day in 2015. However, economic strain is not the only cause of suicide. In South Korea, for example, the suicide rate was a shocking 32 per 100,000 in 2015, the worst rate in the industrialised world, despite the country having the 11th highest GDP. These sad figures highlight the multifaceted nature of suicide and serve as a sobering reminder that no country or culture is immune.
Sleeping disorders
Sleeping disorders encompass a range of conditions that affect a person’s ability to achieve restful and consistent sleep. Examples include insomnia, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, and parasomnias. Hypnotherapy can be a valuable tool for addressing certain sleeping disorders.
Hypnotherapy and PTSD
Hypnotherapy can be an effective treatment option for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD is a mental disorder that can arise after experiencing or witnessing a stressful event. Symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and avoidance behaviours.
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic method that uses hypnosis to assist patients in accessing their subconscious minds and making beneficial changes in their feelings, ideas, and behaviour. In the context of PTSD, hypnotherapy can address and reduce the disorder’s symptoms.
Hypnothwerapy and pain
Chronic pain can be a challenging condition to manage, and hypnotherapy is one approach that some individuals find helpful in coping with their pain. Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy that involves the use of hypnosis to induce a relaxed and focused state of consciousness, during which the individual becomes more open to suggestions and guided imagery.

My name is Lana Lane, and I live in West Sussex in the UK.
The human brain has always fascinated me since it is the most complex organ in our universe about which we know so little as to how it functions. I am passionate about studying neurology to gain further understanding about how the brain works.
I graduated from the University of Southampton, studying biomedical science and neuroscience. I am a King’s College London student studying Applied Neuroscience (Msc). My desire is to join research teams and study memory, brain aging, and mental disorders.
